Inspiring Growth in Aviation and Storytelling
I grew up in Colorado and have traveled throughout the United States. Currently, I am a certificated flight instructor (CFI, MEI) teaching along Colorado’s Front Range. I’m passionate about developing capable, safety-minded pilots and helping them build disciplined habits, sound aeronautical decision-making, and confidence that holds up in real-world situations.
The love of aviation entered my bloodstream as a child, flying in my family’s Piper Turbo Arrow, and I earned my private pilot certificate in 1992. After serving as an officer in the United States Air Force, I completed an MBA in Technology Management and established a career as a self-employed professional. In 2018, I pivoted my life to pursue a new career in aviation. I bring both professional structure and practical experience to training, with more than 2,200 flight hours and a strong focus on safety, consistency, and continuous improvement.
I’m also an author. I wrote Flight Plan for Success: Navigating Life Skills: 26 Skills from A to Z, and I regularly publish articles on aviation safety, pilot proficiency, and risk management, using scenario-based stories. ‘Flight of Understanding‘ appeared in Mentor magazine.

When I’m not flying or writing, you will typically find me outdoors, enjoying year-round activities, whether it’s winter mountain days on the slopes or warm-weather days on trails and open spaces. This consistent connection to the outdoors influences my lifestyle and teaching approach, emphasizing respect for the weather, thorough preparation, and discipline to ensure safe adventures.
